This workshop has been designed to connect family members together for a cooperative activity where each individual can participate in self expression while simultaneously working as a unit. The workshop has been formulated for participants of all ages and at any skill level. Various mediums of craft and mixed media are used to create art journals with themes drawn from personal experiences, historical data and other subject matter.
The purpose of this program is to allow for growth and development in a number of essential areas including comprehension, critical thinking, listening, formation of narratives and story telling through the creation of art as a family. A main focus is the benefit of bonding, creating and learning together. This is part of a community wellness initiative that connects participants to the joy of creating aesthetically pleasing art works while investing in family time. These activities contribute to whole health and improve work-life balance.
Art Creation Workshops in development cover the following areas:
– painting and mural making
– hand building and sculpture
– craft (decorative art, fabric art)
– culinary art
Workshops have been planned to take place in various locations and be comprised of family units of two or more persons (with minor children being accompanied by adult family members).
Other public programming in development for Lowe Art Breakthroughs (L.A.B.) include, creative placemaking, discussions, documentaries, exhibitions, performative content, podcasts, recreation and sports activations as well as various types of symposiums and workshops. This programming is being formulated to contribute to individual as well as community growth and development for the creation of more sustainable environments.
